Guest Column: By the Light of the Silvery (Full) Moon

By Pia Wilson

The full moon — brightening the night sky on Thursday, July 10 — has a mission for us, should we choose to accept it. Find a balance between work life and home life. A little less climbing the corporate ladder and more chilling on the couch. Otherwise, you’ll be susceptible to turning into a werewolf.

Energy has been building in your life since the last new moon, so by the time the full moon rolls around, you need a release. Let ‘er rip. Let it go. There’s a reason why there’s more activity in hospital emergency rooms when there’s a full moon. It’s powerful.

This full moon will be in Capricorn, also known as the CEO of the zodiac. It’s asking you to say goodbye to office routines that no longer serve you. Maybe look for a new job, if that toxic boss of yours has gone too far.

Not sure? The answers are inside of you. The moon is our feelings. If we look hard enough, we can even see the emotions trying to hide from us.

You know what else the full moon is good for? Growth through forgiveness. Maybe you need to forgive your younger self for making career choices that didn’t turn out the way you wanted. You might need to forgive your former office bestie who took the promotion you feel you deserved. That’s your past. Pour it down the drain like a jug of spoiled milk you forgot was in the fridge. Grudges just keep the offending person close to you. Don’t let them stink up your mind anymore.

Let this full moon give you an emotional glow-up. Manifest something new for yourself. More vacation days. A bigger salary. Respect for your boundaries. Tell the full moon what you want.
