Guest Column: The Gemini Full Moon, A Chatty Kathy

The final supermoon of 2025 is brightening the sky this Thursday, Dec. 4, at 6:14 p.m. The full Cold Moon name corresponds to the chill in the air. Makes you want to get all warm and cozy at home. Maybe make some tea and settle in with a good book. That’s certainly what the Full Moon in Gemini is going to want you to do — the book part.

Gemini is an air sign ruled by Mercury, and it cares about communication and knowledge. It’s also into local travel. You might start thinking about picking up a foreign language because Gemini loves that, and as a bonus, the Sun is in Sagittarius, the sign of foreign peoples. It’s a vibe, a worldly vibe. Picture yourself in your personal library, spinning your big old floor globe.

You might feel like editing a zine. Remember those? They’re making a comeback. You know something, and you want to put it down in a homemade, handcrafted zine and share it with people who are into the same subculture. That’s a Gemini full moon for sure.

 Write a letter. Send a postcard. Start a podcast. Start a rumor. Maybe a podcast about rumors. Go to one of those storytelling open mics and share something about your life.

Venmo your favorite writer enough for a cup of coffee. Go to a book reading. Go to a lecture at your local college, community center, or online. Have a healthy debate with someone about something you see on a billboard. 

The Gemini Full Moon, like other full moons, shines a light on your life. Your accomplishments. The things in progress. It also asks you to think about what stories you’re telling yourself about your life. What’s the story of your 2025? How have your thought patterns changed? Have you embraced any new ideas?

Take a deep breath and think about it.
